Midnight & NIGHT

NIGHT is Midnight's utility token. It was distributed on Cardano as the native asset cNIGHT, and it is the Cardano side — the market, the holders, and the contracts that release NIGHT over time — that this page measures. Midnight's own chain statistics are mirrored below for context.

Every panel says where its numbers came from. Nothing here is a forecast, and there is no countdown: unlock schedules are assigned per address, not globally.

cNIGHT on Cardanomeasured

Price and liquidity are the volume-weighted view across every NIGHT pool our pool index holds; holder counts come from our own holder index, keyed by stake key so one wallet with twenty addresses counts once.

Thawingon-chain

NIGHT distributed subject to thawing is released in four equal instalments 90 days apart, with each address's first date randomised inside the 10 Dec 2025 – early Mar 2026 window. There is no global tranche calendar, so this panel shows what the contracts currently hold and what their own datums say becomes claimable when.

Midnight's public indexer is the only source for these. We walk its blocks one batch at a time and count what is in them; we cannot verify any of it independently, so a figure here is exactly as good as that service.

DUST generationmirrored

DUST is the resource that pays for Midnight transactions; NIGHT generates it. Midnight's indexer answers this keyed by Cardano stake address, which is why we can ask it about your wallets — we already hold their stake keys. We only ever ask about wallets linked to your own account.

Where the large balances sitmeasured

Every script address we could identify that holds a material amount of cNIGHT, with its balance measured now and the evidence for its label beside it.

Nothing measured yet — this list is written by the hourly NIGHT sync.

There is more than one “NIGHT bridge”. The Wanchain Cardano↔BNB bridge is a different system from the Cardano→Midnight route, and it is the one that lost roughly 515 million NIGHT on 20 July 2026. This page publishes no bridge-flow chart: we could not identify a Cardano→Midnight lock address, because no address for one is published, its destination lives in a spending transaction's redeemer rather than a datum, and — searching the whole cNIGHT holder set — no large never-spent script sink exists that would look like one. A mislabelled flow chart would be worse than no chart, so there is no chart.

Working notes, including the dead ends, are in the repository at docs/MIDNIGHT.md.
